Annette Naudin is senior lecturer in media and cultural entrepreneurship and is an Enterprise Education fellow of the National Centre for Graduate Entrepreneurship.

Annette has a leading role exploring enterprise education for the media and creative industries for various EU funded projects at Birmingham City University. She has run creative enterprise conferences, published and presented on the subject. Annette writes on the subject of creative enterprise on her blog aimed at students and educators.

Annette developed her entrepreneurial experience by setting up and running her own successful textile business supplying outlets such as Liberty, Harrods and exporting to Japan, USA and Europe. Developing expertise in the creative industries and enterprise, she then worked as a consultant with clients including local authorities, Arts Council England and various creative industries organisations.

Annette is a trustee of the arts organization, Pigeon Projects and of a local community development trust, Moseley Community Development Trust. Annette is interested in social enterprise and she is a mentor for UnLtd, a foundation supporting social entrepreneurs in the UK.

Annette is undertaking a PhD (part-time) at the Centre for Cultural Policy Studies at the University of Warwick, exploring cultural entrepreneurship. Annette’s research explores strategies for self-identification to explore personal agency within the contested field of cultural entrepreneurship. Early findings demonstrate that while self-exploitation and the challenges associated with enterprise are apparent, there is evidence of individuals negotiating and disputing notions of the entrepreneur. Through empirical research, Annette is interested in demonstrating the complexities of entrepreneurship through the lived experience of Birmingham based cultural workers.

Annette blogs about her research here http://annettenaudin.wordpress.com/

Annette’s research interests include curriculum development in entrepreneurship in the cultural and creative industries. She has initiated several conferences on the subject bringing together leaders in this emerging field of research.
