AN AHRC/BCU EVENT
KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER & PUBLIC INTERVENTIONS IN BROADCASTING & MUSIC DISTRIBUTION:
This free event will bring together scholars, policy makers and industry partners to a showcase of some of the work the AHRC in partnership with Birmingham City University has done around Knowledge Transfer. The day will focus on insights to ensure effective public interventions to promoting innovation in the application of internet technologies for broadcasting and music distribution. We will hear from academics involved in the Knowledge Transfer project and some of their key partners, including Care International, the Prison Radio Association and the Manchester based record label Fat Northerner, among others. The role of Universities in informing policy and the benefits of knowledge transfer will be discussed. The afternoon will focus on the issues of Intellectual property and creative commons, giving delegates the opportunity to explore ideas and debate current guidelines. After the event there will be drinks and the opportunity to join in some festivities at Birmingham’s Christmas Market.
